Benchmark interne chez LPC Belgium
In
order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, an efficient use and conservation
of energy is a necessity. For that reason, the LPC duffel mill has participated
over the last years in an “energy benchmark program” for all the
facilities worldwide of the group to which the mill belonged until mid 2007
(Kimberly Clark).
In essence, each manufacturing facility had to achieve a facility-specific world-class
energy benchmark, which had to be obtained within a given timeframe.
The best performing facility, per technology and within the group, was designated
as the “energy benchmark”.
Periodically, internal audits monitored the progress and delivered the necessary
solutions to achieve the target. Every five years, the energy benchmarks were
tightened whereby a continuous reduction in greenhouse gas emissions was achieved.
